Paphos Town Hall - Wedding Ceremony
There are various reasons why couples choose a civil ceremony. Maybe your religious beliefs are different to those of your partner or maybe quite simply you “just want to be married”. For your own personal reasons, a civil ceremony may suit you best.
Paphos municipality is situated in the heart of Paphos old town making it a 10-15 minute drive from most hotels in Paphos, furthermore the architectural stature of the building is quite remarkable! This is in addition to the pride that is taken by the municipality for the up keep of the town hall and surrounding gardens making it an excellent location for photo opportunities. Thankfully the ceremony is read in English and is a relatively short reading lasting approximately 8-10 minutes. However it has to be said that this does not by any means take away the importance of the day.
Ceremonies at Paphos Town Hall take place between Monday to Friday between 9am-1.30pm, except Thursdays where ceremonies may take place up until 5pm at no additional charge. However please keep in mind that late afternoon ceremonies on Thursdays at Paphos Town Hall can not take place during the months of July and August where the normal time of up to 1.30pm may be chosen for a ceremony.
The same reading applies for all civil ceremonies at all municipalities and outdoor venues in Paphos regardless of location, it is also important to be aware that the words can not be changed as this is what will make the marriage legal. By providing an alternative choice of music, other than the traditionally played “here comes the bride” can give an added personal touch to the ceremony if required.
